What you need to know before using Liquid Rubber Roof Sealant…?

EPDM’s coating Liquid Rubber sealant is a true EPDM product with one-coat product application system. Unlike other sealants there is no need to re-coat the surface area again and again. The liquid version of EPDM is similar to sheet EPDM, but as in liquid form you don’t need to worry about seams as it creates a seamless membrane.

Before you apply Liquid Rubber sealant there are some things you need to know first. Here they are:

  •       Add a catalyst before use. Scrape the sides of container or use a mixer drill so that the catalyst is properly mixed.
  •          Xylene or any other Solvents may be added to regulate viscosity or for clean-up.
  •          Liquid EPDM Rubber can be easily applied like a paint material using squeegees and nap rollers. The product is self-leveling.
  •          Product pot life is 4-6 hours after the catalyst has been added.
  •          Temperature plays an important role in curing the product. Higher the temperature, faster will be product curing.
  •          The coated surface should be cleaned and dry before application of Liquid Rubber; otherwise, it will not adhere properly to the surface.
  •          Liquid Rubber works perfectly on various roofing systems including metal, rubber, and fiberglass. However, for wood, it needs a primer coat before application.
  •          The chemical reaction of Liquid Rubber mixed with catalyst can be stopped by freezing the material. This makes the material usable for weeks or months. To use again simply unfreeze at room temperature and apply.
